Mediation and the Role of Counsel
The mediator is neutral and does not act as legal counsel for either spouse. Each represented participant remains able to receive independent advice from their own attorney concerning proposed settlement terms.
KSL Mediation requires at least one party to be represented by counsel. If neither spouse is represented, the matter is not currently eligible for our mediation services.
Preparing for Divorce Mediation
Useful preparation often involves identifying the issues genuinely in dispute, understanding what information is necessary to evaluate those issues and making sure the mediation is scheduled far enough in advance for the mediator to review materials provided under the applicable submission instructions.
