Washington Family Law Mediation
High-Asset & Complex Divorce Mediation
A structured mediation process for family law matters involving substantial assets, businesses, complex finances, or interconnected legal and practical issues.
High-Asset & Complex Divorce Mediation
High-asset divorce disputes can involve more than the value of the property at stake. Businesses, real estate, investments, retirement assets, compensation arrangements and long-term financial considerations may create interrelated questions that require careful preparation.
KSL Mediation provides mediation for represented parties and attorneys handling complex Washington family law matters in King and Snohomish Counties.
Complex Financial Issues in Mediation
Depending on the case, mediation may involve issues concerning:
- Closely held businesses and professional interests
- Multiple real-estate holdings
- Investment and retirement assets
- Complex debt
- Property characterization and allocation disputes
- Spousal maintenance
- Interrelated parenting and financial settlement terms
Why Preparation and Lead Time Matter
Complex mediation is rarely improved by rushing the neutral into a large volume of material immediately before the session. KSL Mediation’s scheduling process is intended to provide appropriate lead time for review and preparation.
Requested dates remain tentative until the required payment process has been completed by both sides and the Care Team confirms the mediation.
A Neutral Settlement Process
The mediator does not represent either spouse and does not substitute for each party’s legal counsel. Mediation instead creates a structured environment for testing proposals, identifying obstacles to settlement and determining whether the participants can reach acceptable terms.
